Mitchell’s Plain Online supports the 16 Days of Activism for no violence against women and children.

Violence in our society is often the symptom of deeper social problems. Together, we need to stand up against violence especially against women and children.

The International 16 Days of Activism campaign focuses on generating an increased awareness of the negative impact of violence and abuse has on women and children, and on society. The campaign is commemorated from 25 November to 10 December every year.

With the theme “Count me in: Together moving a non-violent South Africa forward, the 16-day long campaign challenges all South Africans to raise awareness about the negative impact of violence against women and children (VAW&C) on all members of the community.
